Oh it's very easy. I piped the scrolls using an agar gel, then mixed the silver powder with vodka and very lightly encouraged it to spread onto the scroll. It happens quite naturally if the vodka/powder mixture is runny and you have a light touch with the paintbrush. It just spreads itself out over whatever you touch. Try it.

Did you make the scrolls on the cake? If so, how did you do such a clean job of the painting? If you not, how did you transfer the gel/silver scrolls to the cake. This is beautiful.

No, actually they are a mixture of silver powder ad piping gel. then I painted back over them with silver and vodka solution.

I would love to do something like this, are the scrolls done with royal icing ?
