Top (6") and bottom (10") tiers are pineapple, while the middle tier (8") is dark chocolate. Vanilla almond buttercream over all. Hand painted designs attempted in silver. Mold used for the white gumpaste bands at the base of each tier, then dusted with pearl luster dust. A small rose in silver on the top, awaiting the yellow roses.

Beautiful !!
Thank you Maria!!
simple but elegant!!!
AWWW, thanks Sandra!
You know, Bonnie, this cake is perfect even without the roses. It really doesn't need anything.
Thank you, thank you, & thank you EVERYONE! This is my first stacked 'buttercream' cake. Luckily I had bought a supply of the really large clear straws just for such an occasion. Also, it was the first time I have ever tried to , decorate?, paint on 'buttercream'. It is so much easier on fondant! lol AND you might know, that this was one of those times when my buttercream did not want to crust properly!! I used a stencil for the flower petal part of the bottom tier, and free-handed the rest. On the middle tier, I first made the patterns I wanted with a small paint brush handle/plastic tool. Then I dipped same in the vodka/airbrush mix of black & white (to make silver) and applied it over the pattern, going from larger to smaller dots as needed for the effect I wanted. I used one of my molds for the fondant band at the base of each tier, but cut it down by half, so it would not be too tall. That turned out well, so I brushed on some pearl luster dust. The slightly off white color that resulted will go well with the light yellow roses that I made to go on the cake. I kept it in the fridge, but it spent a lot of time sitting in a motel room after it left here, not good for the buttercream! It ain't perfect, but it's all mine! lol
beautiful Bonnie! So elegant.
Pretty painted and looks delicious...this is very good job for the hand painted..
