I used the royal blue gel. The longer it sat the deeper the color.

I had the same problem....every time! Even though I was putting a dam in, it still gave me a bulge! All the work I put into my cakes seemed like nothing because the bulge kept coming....until I read the gravity thing on the internet! Since then, nothing! It's great! How did you get such a deep blue for this cake! I love it!

I actually had a dam in this one. I am not really sure what happened. I usually don't have this problem. Who knows? lol

This is a great looking cake! I have a tip for you that I learned for the "bump" you get from the filling in between...a professional decorater wrote it somewhere on the internet...after baking the cakes, fill them with whatever filling you want, and as much filling as you want - make the "dam" around to help keep the filling inside, then place your top layer on and let it sit overnight....gravity is what makes that happen, not having too much filling. I've tried it, and it works!! I haven't had any more problems with the bulges! Let me know if it works for you, too!
