Ruby, this is a very pretty cake. The crystals are shining very pretty, I know you're saying the camera is adding to the shine, it still is very pretty.

Thank you. The lighting and the flash from the camera really made them bling! LOL

I'm with Michelle - I so appreciate all the effort you put into making the jewels edible!  It is a gorgeous cake, and screams BLING! Good luck!!

Beautiful work, you have my vote! I think you should give a little description, because some people may not know how much work you put in to making that bling! To me there is a huge difference in a cake decorated with items that are made vs one with plastic/fake decorations! Great job!

Bonnie try using distilled water. The minerals in tap water can turn brown when exposed to elevated temps, these minerals give a yellowing or brown effect. Add only enough water to make the isomalt look like wet sand, six oz by weight for every 3 pounds of isomalt. Use stainless steel utensils for stirring, not wood.  Or, just use isomalt sticks, that might be easier, but use stainless steel to stir. Hope that helps. As I said before, the flash from the lites made these brighter then they really are. Thanks.
