Beautiful Linda... I'm surprised Tracy Deadman didn't say anything about your BEAUTIFUL butterflies...?

They're beautiful... WOW...!!!! :)

I agree with June and Goreti.  This cake has class - less is more, as they say.  I think that sometimes people who don't make cakes don't always have the 'eye' to see what they ask for in reality.  I'm really sorry you felt like that Linda.

There is no accounting for taste I guess.  I think anything more would take away from the cake.  I would have been THRILLED with this cake.

Yes, I actually think the butterflies you have were enough. Otherwise, it would be like a jungle, with masses of them, which would have been most unattractive. But....some people do like "gawdy"......"too much"...over the top. This is simple, elegant AND attractive.

I do. When her husband called in the order at first, he had said pink butterflies, yellow and purple daisies, and tons of butterflies. Then he told me over the phone that he better check with the boss (wife) before it was written in stone. He called back in ten minutes and sounded like a whipped dog saying that he was all wrong on the order and changed it to blue background, white and purple daisies, and lots of butterflies, and purple trim work. Well, as you can see, I didn't put purple trim work, but rather a basket weave, and then I added other little flowers here and there to compliment the daisies. Once the cake was delivered.... it was like cricket noises-no response. Soooo, I am thinking that I hadn't done it to the wife's perfection. I had one more butterfly to add, but in all honesty, I just thought that would be a bit much, and in my mind, I was thinking the name in purple was good enough purple trim.

Linda, you really think the lady was disappointed?  I think it has the perfect amount.

lol Linda!  Like Goreti, I didn't even notice the absence of head and antennae till you mentioned it...  I do understand how you feel tho' if you think you haven't met the clients' expectations.

It's because, Katy, I really think the lady who ordered it wanted more butterflies and daisies on it than I put on it. Not to mention, I forgot the stupid antennas and heads on those darn butterflies.

Can anyone tell me why Linda wasn't all that happy with this?  I'd have been delirious..........!
