Maybe I should just ask....eh???  Never really came out and asked for a cake for my b-day. Just hinted, or mentioned after b-day was over.

You know, Anne, I am too. He always buys my cake from the best bakery in town so I don't mind either. It's kind of nice having someone take the time to think about me in that way.

Yes, I have heard that Sobey's is not bad. We have a Longo's. It is just local. Burlington/Hamilton. They actually bring their stuff from an Italian bakery in TO. They use to have the most amazing fern tarts. But the bakery in TO Longo's was using, the owner retired and closed the bakery.

You know what.  We actually have a grocery store down the street that really bakes their cakes from scrtach.  Well, I should say scratch as from a mix.  But the cakes are NOT shipped in frozen. Can't say I like their icing...greasy, cheapy brand shortening...gag me with a spoon, type icing. But they do make  lovely torte's. Got to know one of the bakers their. She is gone now. Don't know where. Probably quit cause it is a lousy place to work. Fortino's. Sure you have one where you are Anne. The "supermarket with a heart"...  Ha!!!  Good one. Bothe my kids worked their. I treated my dog better!!

Actually my husband always buys me a cake, he is not too handy in the kitchen.  I am happy with it.

George has at least 'bought' me one from a good quality bakery, but I'd hate to see what he came up with 'baking' one! My daughter? Naw....she's way too busy watching every single morsel that enters her mouth so that she can maintain her teeny tiny waist line. She wouldn't touch cake even if it were just to bake it!
