And you my friend will be making that world out there smile!
I do not believe that there is any such thing as an unimportant show. Everyone that bothers to enter has made an effort to put their best foot/effort forward, and so it has to be important to them. Even if it was just for fun, they know that 'the world' will be watching! lol
I have always enjoyed competitions, but since I am brand new, I thought the fair might be a good introduction. I am as nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof already, even for an unimportant show.
And that is exactly why I didn't go! Too shy! lol Good an excuse as any! lol
June, my Wilton instructor tried to get me to do that very thing this past fall, for the Great American Cake Show, outside of Baltimore, in Md., And she was serious!!
No, they are not on the internet. They only have four decorated cake classes - Wedding Cake with Fondant, Special Occasion Cake, Wedding Cake for Beginners and the fair themed cake, "Come Grow With Us". I read all of the instructions and nothing else is mentioned except that a 24" square space is provided for each entry. I do know for sure that the TN State Fair is nothing like the size and prestige of the other two mentioned, but I do also know we have a lot of great designers in Nashville.
I did send a couple of e-mails to the individual who is in charge of the baking division, but did not receive a reply.
