A chocolate mud cake with dark chocolate ganache and homemade marshmallow fondant. With this being my first cake decorating experience, I used the very basic tools, a rolling pin, a fondant smoother, an paring knife and a template for the skull and crossbones to trace over the fondant. I did get to play with Wilton gel colors and edible silver dust to get all the colors right. I was proud to serve this for a birthday cake, but the smiles I got back were enough to make me want to learn more!
