Thank you all.  It was fun to see the kids faces when they saw it.  Of course, the fairy on the cake board ended up with broken wings cause the kids were touching it.  They would be running by and then stop & touch.

Thank you so much. The fairies are 50/50 gumpaste/fondant mixture.  I went to the library to pick up "clay character for kids" by Maureen Carlson and kind of followed the steps for the fairy from the book.  It didn't have wings so I made a template on cardboard.  I was pretty happy with the rest and my 3 yr old great-niece loved her cake.  Which of course, made it worth all the work I put into cake.
