Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Don't ask why I would attempt such a thing. The base is cake covered in baby blue basketweave. The head, hands and feet were the only thing modelled. The rest was cut cake covered in buttercream under the textured blanket. The face was dusted and painted...as best as I could.

I used my daughters baby doll as a model.  I didn't like the eyes very much.  Next time, if there is one I will make the eyes like I would a small figure.  Start by making the eye socket, make a ball for the eye then add the color and pupil and the eye lids, lashes etc.  I will also use modelling chocolate since you can work with it longer before it gets dry.

lol, that is kinda creepy, you are awesome, the realism in the face is outstanding.  that is my biggest problem, iam not an artist and to do the facial features always trips me up.

cake, she saved the head for a while in the freezer, creepy now that I am writing that down.

The mom-to-be and the guests left the room while I cut it.  They didn't want to watch it being cut either.
