Can't remember June exactly what I used for this one. I found a lot of older pictures of cakes that I did several years ago thought I would post them if that's OK. I don't think it's the all shortening recipe never liked it. I think it's mostly the picture light makes it look whiter than it really was. I do use a little shortening in my frosting but mostly butter now.
I'll bet any money Katy it is a all shortening icing. That comes out very white. Only Betty can answer that. :o)
Betty, your butter cream is so white - do you use a meringue butter cream?
