This is a 3 layer Chocolate Mayonnaise cake filled with real butter butter cream vanilla icing and covered with Chocolate MMF. After covering the entire cake with vanilla butter cream, I cut strips of rolled chocolate fondant into 2" wide strips and started laying them onto the cake. Once I was done, it looked like a cake covered in tootsie rolls, which I did not like, so I used bronze sheen and air brushed the whole thing to get away from the tootsie roll look. I wanted it to have a fabric 'feel' to it, so I went with ribbon roses made with copper colored fondant, and then colored fondant with a combination of yellow and brown for the ribbon at the bottom. I love texture, so I rolled the fondant over a real cloth ribbon for some texture, then painted it all with pearl sheen liquid air brush color, and then added the tiny copper flowers onto the ribbon. The big ribbon leafs are colored with avocado food paste. Thanks for looking!

Thank you Tracy. It really doesn't alter the taste so much, but it makes a really moist cake. Here is a good recipe to try out. If you do a google search, there are all kinds. It is something that we used to have at all the family picnics we would go to and it was always the first one gone, so we would grab a slice while getting our dinner food so that we didn't miss out on a slice. My Mom always said that it came about during WW2 because of food shortages.http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2010/04/chocolate-mayonnaise-cak...

Ps- Chocolate mayonaise! Sounds really interesting. Love it on chips (fries), but never heard of it in cake. Is the recipe posted anywhere & what does it bring to the flavour table?

Laney, mine was a cheaper model from Harbor Freight that my husband purchased for me. I was skeptical at first, but I don't mind it at all. The brand name is Central Pneumatic deluxe airbrush kit.

Linda, what kind of airbrush machine do you have?  It's finally time to purchase one & I am stuck between 2 models.
