My Daughter wanted cupcakes for a potluck lunch at her new office, so I made her a basket full of "apples" (aka cupcakes). The apple tops were made from candy melts. The stem is fondant attached to a toothpick.

Linda - they are a shell like - for lack of a better explanation.  We have a "haunted hayride" here tonight, but tomorrow I am going to post instructions and pictures on my blog.  So you will be able to see the under side.

I hope you don't mind - but I am going to attempt to copy these for halloween - they will go perfect with my witch costume!

Thanks!  I used Amazing Mold Putty and made a mold of a Gala and Honeycrisp apple.  Then I painted the candy melts into the mold in layers.
