A English Top Hat made for a lovely lady celebrating her 80th birthday with a tea party on the same day that Prince William and Kate were married - each guest was given a fabulous hat to wear for the day. All Marshmallow fondant and hand made accents. Everything is edible. This cake was a White Almond Sour Cream Cake with a Raspberry filling and Vanilla Bean Buttercream.

Thanks Helen - Which part are you curious about? I covered the bottom tier with MMF and then made a ruler to "quilt" it - I carved the top tier so that the sides were concave and then covered it with MMF. After that I stacked the cakes & then made the rim and attached it with water, making sure to pleat it as I went around, then I placed paper towels under the brim to give it some lift until it dried. The flowers were all made by hand as were the buttons & ribbons. For the curly cues I simply laid the swirled MMF on its side until it dried and the curls I wrapped around straws until they were dried.
wow this is a great work it wonderful, please can you show me how make it
