Thank you so much Anne!  I really love working with buttercream as well, I know that fondant gives a niced finished look but to me, the creativity and effort I put into a buttercream cake just gives me a greater sense of pride.  I've been self taught, with the help of books, and lots of wonderful tutorials on cake websites etc.  I would love to do some formal classes to perfect different skills, but I've found that practice makes perfect!

Faith, me too, I love bc so much more than fondant.  But my work is not as neat as yours.  This is another lovely cake.

I know whatever cake you make her, it will be beautiful! I love making "traditional" looking cakes using flowers and buttercream. I think it's a classic look that is always appreciated at birthdays and anniversaries, particularly with milestone birthdays and anniversaries for older individuals. It was such an honour to create this cake.

Love it. My mom turns 90 this year, and I'm planning a special cake for her also.
