Unfortunately there are people like these in a community.  I made her wedding cake after this cake and she was not happy with the cake because of miscommunication.  The picture had a bow topper but she then said "But we would like a silver mirror topper that says mr and mrs stanley".  She did not tell me that they want both the toppers on the cake - it did not make sense to me to put both on top as the bow already covers the whole top cake.  Then we also had extreme heat and unfortunately the cake had some damage due to the hot weather and hot venue.  And to top it all off the cake stand they provided was uneven which I only saw once the cake was stacked and unable to move anything! The heat was unpreventable - miscommunication she was not clear on the 2 toppers (and that after I searched the web for a mirror topper supplier for her at my own cost) - cake stand not my fault and not willing to compromise the whole cake falling to try and put something under one very small foot of the stand.  I told her that I will compensate them for the cake, but she was adamant that it was not necessary but I should re think doing 3 tiered wedding cakes because it seems like I am not able to handle more than 3 tiers. I was sooo peeeed off.  I have never had any trouble with any of my 3 tiered cakes before - hers was the only one and not all because of my doing - heat, miscommunication and faulty cake stands. I was so stressed out after wards and I even sent her a picture of the cake once I was done so she knows and sees the cake before the wedding starts - she never looked at the picture.  I delivered both the cakes at no cost (travelling 2 hours to and from at a time) and give her a huge discount and she then also complained about the price. 
At the same time my hubby did work for her at a few of her clients houses and she also never paid my husband for his work - 3 days work no traveling cost paid no replaced stock paid.  It has been 5 months and threatened us with her lawyers because we kept on calling, messaging and emailing her for our money she even unfriended me on FB - which is fine by me.  Every dog gets its day!!

that's terrible Corni - no friend at all.  I assume you won't be making another one for her.

Thanx ladies, just sad that the client never paid me for this one.  Client being a "old school friend" we know each other 30years.  This makes things difficult to make cake for friends and family, because of situations like this.
