Are all of your tiers separated by pillars, or are some stacked?
For this one, I put all the individual cake layers on a sheet of foam that was about an inch thick. Each cake had a separator plate underneath it, so the feet that fit inside the pillars sink into the foam and keep them from moving. The foam protects the cake from road bumps too. When it came to assembling it, all I had to do was set the plates upon the pillars that were already sticking up out of the layer below. Does that make sense to you? I never transport a cake that has pillared layers already assembled. Maybe I'm just chicken!

Lovely Linda did you put this together at the venue, I have a 4 tiered cake this sunday & it's going be a heavy one & I am not sure if I should travel with 2 sets of 2 tiers & finish it off at the hall

It was standing straight when I left after setting it up. Don't know how long it stayed that way. Hopefully, no one bumped the table!
