Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I handmade the fondant roses and leaves (first time making them!) and then of course painted the leaves and petal dusted the roses. I was excited to try the quilting design, I think this is one of the best cakes I have made so far! Each cake I make I challenge myself to try something I haven't done before. :o)

LOL my kids love it, I really haven't eaten much of it. They love it when I make anything out of fondant, cuz they know they get any extra pieces...or the mistakes!!

The last fondant cake I did...omg, what a horror. (it's the grad cake in my photos) I was not in my zone, didnt start with enough fondant to cover it....I should have known not to go any further but I tried to cover it anyways. Ended up looking awful, so I ripped off the fondant, re-dirty iced it and went to buy more fondant. When I got home I put on my cake shows I had DVR'd and then did the fondant, turned out perfectly! My hubby thinks it's funny, but whenever I make cakes I have to be watching a cake show, that gets me in my zone and I do nothing else until the cake is finished. :o)
