This was my second attempt at a Elvis figure.I am not fond of the gold glasses but the fondant was too soft to roll out thin enough to make them so I painted them on.My teenage son made the dog and I helped with the spots.

Hi Carole, I found your Elvis!!! He's not so bad, just needs a little support through his trunk. However
I wouldn't recomend using home made fondant for figures, it relaxes as it dries .
Anyway I'll keep intouch and post on here how I do my figures.

I also make my own fondant, (powdered sugar, gelatin, glycerin, corn syrup, vanilla) and I can't find tylose anywhere so I order on ebay this person is cheap fast and dependable http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330412487530... (the wilton gumpaste is AWFUL!)

Thanks for the comment. This is home made fondant that was made with gelatin.I should have mixed up some powdered Wilton gum paste but I was impatient.I wish I had tylose but there isn't any stores in my area.I was asked to make a safari type of baby shower cake and I worrie about gum paste animals not looking as good as i hope.

if the fondant is to soft add a pinch of tylose powder, it helps things dry faster and harder, patience patience patience, it took me a few hours to complete my mario and luigi =[ I'm hoping the better I get the faster things will go
