Hi Anne. I just used floristry wire, but covered the bottom of each one with a small bit of floristry tape. If I was doing this idea again I would try to buy the small cone shape that you put into the cake (can't remember what they are called...it will come back to me) and then add the wires into that so as the wire was not entering the cake. The stars I made the day before and kept them in the fridge overnight to set. They were made from fondant. Thanks for the comment

Hey Lorraine,  I love the colors and the stars.  Planning to do a 50th birthday with stars, what wire that u have used and do u have to make the stars ahead and keep.
