For the cake, I made (1) 8" round and (3) 9" rounds.  I put an 8" cake board between the layers.  The 8" round cake was put on the bottom.  I then cut away the cake at an angle.  Hope this helps!

I made my own mold and purchased Isomalt.  I did try it first with the sugar.  But the sugar tends to be a little sticky.  So I used the Isomalt.  My son really wanted to work with the Isomalt/Sugar so I thought I would give it a try. He's my unpaid official helper.

 

My Nephew loved it and we ended up breaking the bottles over his head.  Check out the website for the molds at http://www.makeyourownmolds.com/how-to-sugar-bottle-mold .

 I was ask to do one. What did you use for the bottles and the bucket? I do own Wiltons bowling pin cake pan..Your cake is great!!! I know your nephew was very happy with it....
