Gumpaste Scottish Thistle close up

this is a Nicholas Lodge syle gumpaste Scottish thistle. Each leaf is hand carved taking over an hour a piece and then hand painted lightly with shortening for a natural glow. The center is made of hundreds of tiny threads, wired and dusted with 4 different colors of petal dust.
