I have no idea about anything until I meet the bride. Only thing I am sure of is my 1st r question. "What is your cake budget?" it is surprising to me that brides set prices for the dress, their venue, food, alcohol, flowers, etc, but not the CAKE. I got married 34 yrs. ago, and distinctly remember pricing out my cake. I called around to several bakeries. I decided on a dummy cake. It had been "used" several X's , so I go it cheap. We had a Polish wedding, & they are not big on cake, so I knew it would be a waste.

Believe or not, I didn't see it until I got there to assemble the cake!  We put the wedding and reception together in 2 weeks.  The only request they had were the colors, navy blue and hot pink!  There is a double cake plate in each color and I used Satin Navy ribbon (dark colors bleed into lighter colors) for the bottom border with the hot pink as a base and accent color.  I almost cried when I saw the top an how perfect it was!  BTW...how is your wedding cake dilemma?

Absolutely gorgeous!!!! Did you make the topper?  And if so, what is it made of?
