All free-standing items, fencing, lattice, trees, chair, table and stepping stones are 100% royal icing (no armature of any kind). The cake sides, grass, vines, and flowers are all American butter cream.

I completely agree with you Jennifer. The way you had incorporated the weave fence with the vines pulled it all together so nicely. Maybe the flowers were "a little too much"? If you left the flowers out maybe it wont look so "busy" but anyhow, its beautiful and you very talented!

Thank you, EVERYONE, for all of the wonderful comments and constrictive criticism. (I actually was going to do the sides in basket weave, but I didn't want the top of the cake look like it was growing out of a basket.) So far, I have way more votes than I had imagined I would ever get! Thank you! I absolutely LOVED doing the wrought iron fences. And now, every time I'm outside and see fences of any kind, in my head I'm making them out of royal icing!!! The idea for this design came entirely out of my head. So now, this has me wondering how many other 3D things I can make from royal icing!

It is so nicely done I just wish you had left the sides plainer so as to not detract from the work on the top. You "iron work" is wonderful but very hard to notice due to so much going on with the cake. A plain basket weave would have been enough, I feel. Show case all that lovely work on the top.
