    I don't normally put a fondant cake in the fridge - the moisture in the cake tends to seep into the icing and make it all sticky and wet looking. If you are going to fondant the pieces I would do it one or 2 days before the party and keep the cake in a cool dry place (not the fridge) until needed.

    Hi Wendy - yes use toothpicks or dried spaghetti for the horns and ears.
