Only managed to look at a couple of your cakes so far and you are truly good. Looking forward to seeing more of your cakes. Mind you they make me feel pretty inadequate.
Thanks for your kind comments on my cakes. I am new to this so may take me a while to get used to what to do Glad you to be a friend
Thank you for the nice comments Betty. I was looking through your cakes last night. I must say that your wedding cakes are really out of this world. :)
"Welcome Denise, Have just been looking at all your posted cakes they are beautiful. Your history sounds a little like mine except I'm older (76), self taught cake decorator about 40 years, AND cancer survivor (diagnosed in "89) OK now and I'm still here and doing cakes. You'll love this site, lots of nice people here."
Thank you Betty for the welcome & compliments. I've looked at your cakes as well & they are absolutely beautiful. Your experience & talent show in each & every one. Thank you, too, for sharing that you are a cancer survivor. WOW...24 yrs!!! I'm sure you have to know how much it means for someone just a little over a year of being diagnosed & not long out of treatment to hear encouraging survival stories like yours. God bless you & I wish many more years of health for you, joy in your cake decorating, & all other areas of your life.
Betty thanks, Your work is beautiful also, I love working with buttercream. Haven't had much luck with fondant, But I want to learn, Because covering a cake with it is so pretty !
I can't approve your Blog as CWB has now a rule that blogs must be min 300 words. I have to reject it. Can you re-post the info under the Forum, top of the page, in either General Discussion, or Cake Decorating. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for your welcome to the site. Its lovely to be able to see what like minded cake decorators are doing around the world. You look like you have a lot of fun designing and decorating cakes.
Awe, thank you so much Betty. I look at your cakes and wish I could make all those beautiful flowers you make. I don't have much call for flowers though. As you can see, most of my cakes are for children, which I love doing, but never seem to require flowers. I saw you live in NC. My son & his family just moved up there recently. When we are able to make a trip up there to see them, will have to swing by and pay you a visit too ;-)
Thank you for that Betty. It does make sense as that's the end that seems to mess up. It's almost like the nozzle is blocked, but it isn't. Thanks again.
lol Betty - I realised you were talking about flowers! That's very interesting information, thank you. My outside fridge is full of flowers and nothing else! I'm going to try that next - might give me a different texture that will work better. I've always steered clear of shortening as I was concerned about it's effect on flavour. On to Plan D :)
