Comment by Jennifer Ponder on May 2, 2010 at 7:34pm: We're okay in Indian Mound, about 65 miles NW of Nashville. We were actually in Nashville last night, had a free dinner on the General Jackson. Which was really cool, my husband got the tickets due to Week of the Warrior on Ft. Campbell. Was a little disappointed that the boat never left the dock, due to the level of the Cumberland. A friend of mine about 7 miles from my house is flooded in her house, Not that her house is flooded, just all around her. Her house is high enough on a hill it wont reach her, but the Cumberland normally is about 1/2 a mile from her front porch, this afternoon when we went riding around to see the area it is now about 75 yards from her front porch.
I know when stayed in Nashville last night that it was a little scary. Hope everyone else is okay

I emailed one of our TN ICES member Claudette Tidwell and she is doing ok, they have had some flooding. Someone said that Sweet Wise did have some water also. Praying for all those in the area and keep us posted.

Comment by Jennifer Ponder on May 13, 2010 at 1:14pm: Oh, Yeah, I didnt even think about Sweet Wise, since its right across from the Opry Hotel. I did take a Fondant I class there back in Jan & was just in heaven in the store will all the 'toys'. Hopefully they didnt receive as much water as the hotel, I have some friends who will be having "bass pro' withdrawls. Havent heard about how long the mall will be closed, but didn hear on the weather channel this morning that the Opry hotel is looking at being closed till Sept.

Comment by frogkingkonfections on May 13, 2010 at 2:11pm: I got an email from sweet wise and she said they were opened back up. Not much water damge on her side. 2 of my cousins lost their houses and belongings. One of them lost 2 horses too. She did save 4 though.

Comment by Brandy Beard on June 30, 2011 at 9:21pm: ok, I've only been doing cakes for a few months, and I have a question. Whats your opinion and baking and freezing your cakes? I usually bake and decorate the same night and deliver the cake the next morning, even with a tiered cake, I just lose ALOT of sleep. In a few weeks I have 2 tiered cakes for the same day..what's the proper way to freeze my cakes so that I can bake them the week before? Thanks a bunch!!
