Hi Love!!! what brand do you prefer to use? i just finished my vanilla buttercream and use lurpark butter and in turn out great. just try branded butter but not totally the expensive one...

i hope this helps you.

Take Care.

royal icing is not good for icing the cake. it will get hard. and difficult to chew. too sweet to eat. i used royal icing for borders. candy flowers.

@joy: I haven't seen any lurpark here but anyway, thanks for the info. Have you tried buttercream adding with Crisco? Can you share with me your Vanilla Buttercream Recipe?

@Audrey: I agree with you.

The best cake to use with fondant is the genoise or french sponge cake. It has structure that will hold up well to fondant and it is also ver easy to flavor. A lot of the big bakers use this type of cake. Pound cake is also great, but it tends to be dry and hard, if you don't have a good recipe. Check out epicurious.com.

I've been invited to a cookie exchange party and thought it might be neat to make a Filipino cookie. Um ... I don't believe I've ever had a specific Filipino cookie. Any ideas?
