Hey Cricut Ladies :)
Not sure if you have been to the creativedesignclass.com site yet. if I'm understanding it correctly this is a site of the "creator" she talks about her classes etc. There is even a DVD called.."Creative Designs" 2-DVD set for $34.95 plus $3.00 shipping and handling. As DVD's go ...for instruction..that not a bad investment. Here is also a link for youtube off this site..haven't watch it myself so, I'm not sure if it wll be of value or not..youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_efHEZkVOA. Let me know if you come across a way to convert my cricut expression into a cricut cake machine..lol

It is my understanding that Linda McClure's video is using the Crucut Expression. Thanks for reminding me...I have been wanting to purchase that video.

I am actually traveling to Rocky Mountain, NC in June for a class with Linda McClure! I've never taken a class outside of Michigan before except for the ICES convention in Illinois last year. I am excited but nervous because I'm not very good with computers!!

I would love to go to the picnic on August 1. The Michigan ICES is a great group to join. It is a great group of cake decorators! Does anyone else here attend the meetings?

Usually there are classes offered. There are people there who are just beginning cake decorating all the way up to professionals! Everyone there is very nice. The site I usually go to michiganices.org but I just tried but the site is down. However they are on facebook!

Thanks MissLisa for reminding me of the MidMichigan Sugar Artists classes. I just printed off the info. I love taking classes! Not only do you learn new techniques, but you meet fellow decorators who then turn into friends! And you are right, the picnic is just that, a picnic, a get together! No classes. Should be fun!

Hi all Michiganders! What has everyone been up to? Our group has been quiet so there must be a lot of baking going on! I have been busy making celebration cakes. Have another this week then I have a break!

I am new here. Glad to be able to connect with other Michigan cake decorators. I've been decorating cakes as a hobby for many, many years. My mom was a hobbyist cake decorator. I learned a lot just watching her when I was a kid. Last year I decided to start doing it as a business since people (not family) were wanting to pay me to make them a cake. I did my first wedding cake in January and then things really started picking up for me. I'm still learning too so I am glad to find this site! Love that Michigan has now made it legal to be a home baker. Just got my DBA and it's full steam ahead now! Well that's a bit about me!
