Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Where does everyone get all their supplies from?  I'm looking for something (hopefully) a little more affordable than Michaels!

I've only been here 6 months and brought most of my equipment/cutters/colours over with me from the UK so haven't needed to buy much (I'm just a hobbyist at the moment). Here are a few that I've found:

Flour Confections, based in Pickering, ON
McCalls, near Mississauga
Creative Cutters in Richmond Hill, ON

They all offer shipping throughout Canada and are fairly quick from what I've heard. Luckily, the last 2 are within reasonable driving distance for me so I've always just popped there if I've needed something. With McCalls, you can pay $25 to become a wholesale member and then prices are much cheaper.
I live in red Deer Alberta and Micheals is the only place I have found around since Ballons and Baskets is no longer around . Sometimes IF I can make it to Calgary I hit the Hobby Store .
Thanks Angela! I will check those out!!

I get some supplies from Bulk Barn. They carry a lot of the Wilton products. Some Bulk Barns also have the Wilton cake decorating courses. I have taken the first two courses at Bulk Barn.
Wal-Mart also has some Wilton products now, too. I usually get mine from Michael's. You can usually get 40% or 50% off coupons at flyerland.ca or when you buy something you usually get a coupon with your receipt. I also still get coupons in the Michael's flyer in my local newspaper (although, they did tell me that the newspaper flyers would be stopping soon)
I need to get a large square pan and am hoping that Michaels does carry them so that I can use a 40% off coupon!

The Bulk Barn is very reasonable, they have lots of different sizes of cake boards and boxes and even have the sugar flowers and candy decorations for popular themes.
Hey,
I was just wondering id bulk barn or wal-mart sell proper baking pans for cakes? I decided I wanted to try and learn how to do cakes on my spare time and I need proper equitment and micheals is way to far from me. Any help would be appreciate thank you!

You should also try www.icinginspirations.ca. It's based in Kitchener, ON and they offer special shipping rates and at times free shipping (*with restrictions of course). Sign up for their e-newsletter.

Goldas Kitchen is also a good supply store, they are in Mississauga, ON

I get my supplies at Michaels using the 40% and 50% off coupons found on line and in the weekend ads. The Bulk Barn prices are lower on a regular peices. I get my icing sugar there but sift before I use it. They have lots of cake decorating tems but Michaels as a lot as well. Molds can e bought at Wal-mart Scarboroug Town Centre for $9.97, they are 16.97 at Michaels and I havent seen them at Blk Barn. Wal-mart is lower on other things as well. All Wal-Mart do not have cake decorating items. The one in Markham and Scarboro Town are the best for shopping. Hope this helps
