Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I am in Kansas City, and our April-September months are extremely humid.  I am wanting any tips anyone has on beating the humidity - especially when it comes to fondant!  I use a marshmallow fondant because I get much better responses with the taste - not to mention it's extremely cheap!  Anyhow, I was making my son a barn for his b-day and struggled with it wanting to slide.  I can't throw marshmallow fondant in the fridge...any advice?

Any humidity busting ideas are very welcome!

I am Texas near the Gulf.. so the humidity is almost year round here with the exception of the colder months.. which may be a whole 2 months. I have the same problem with the humidity i did refrigerate mine but it was not marshmellow fondant.. i use Satin Ice since my marshmellow never seems to turn out right. There is alot of great advise out there.. i started a discussion a couple of weeks ago.. and there were alot of good suggestions.. try looking it up.. i think i titled it help! wedding cake or something like that :) i had one of my tiers to a wedding cake slide!! It was a disaster.. i actually had to remove all fondant and icing and start completely over on that middle tier.. i was a nervous wreck.. finally they cut the cake! Take care
