Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to get some reviews on the Wilton Edible Paper...specifically if anyone has used the Damask print.

How is it to use? Does it crack, does it bend around cakes okay?  Can you use on buttercream and fondant covered cakes?

Any issues once you have placed the image on the cake?

Thank you!!

Hey Mizztry
I've only ever used it once. Used as a border around a fondant cake. My 60's Psychedelic. It did bend around the cake, but I found it ripped easily. I covered those spots with flowers. Tastes dreadful too, so I tore it off before eating. I don't know about attaching to buttercream? Read a review on Wilton.com and one person who used the damask said it went on her bc cake and looked great. Mine didn't soften & disappear, but as I said, it was fondant. I guess you can buy @ Micheals with 40/50% coupon, and practice on a dummy covered in bc or fondant.

I have used it a couple of times, zebra striped and solid pink.  I did put it on buttercream, it molded fine to a round cake, and although very sweet (as most cake toppings are), we didn't mind the taste.  It was really easy to use, it looked great!
