What kind of treat to bake your Pastors wife?
Hiya!
We have visiting ministers at our church at the moment, we have only known them for about two months now but they are lovely. It is the Pastor's wifes birthday in a few weeks and I really wanted to bring something sweet for her since her bday hits a sunday and we will see her. I know she likes sweet food because when she came over once she really enjoyed the desserts.
She is in her 60's and is quite feminine if that helps.
I dont want to do a whole cake as I dont want to go overboard. I was thinking of a cupcake bouquet but im not sure if thats too much also... then I thought of making a batch of cakepops but then I thought she might be too old for them...?? Some kind of cookies in a tin might work but I dont know what recipe or flavors to do for her...
aahh! What would you give? Im a beginner so please nothing overly complicated!

Penny, I'm 62 and I love cake pops, just not on the stick. Maybe you could make some up like a 'box of chocolates' only cake balls.

Great minds think alike and fools never differ! I was going to say the same thing, but Linda got in first. Could you maybe make a fondant or chocolate box (just simple straight edges) and then put some cake pops in petit four cases inside?

Great minds think alike. I think a cake pop bouquet would be lovely. Either icing them in traditional BC icing or chocolate. You can go as simply or fancy as you want.

Not only am I a fellow cake decorator but I am also a minister's wife. From personal experience, we love anything anyone makes for us as it truly is "the thought that counts"! Thank you for being so thoughtful of her!
