hi can anyone help me i have been asked to make a wedding cake for vegetarians they are not vegan so free range eggs etc are ok with them what is the best recipe to use for fruit and sponge?
when it comes to decorating is fondant and flower past ok

Fruitcake recipe .. substitute Stork Spread for butter. Everything else should be okay.
Victoria sponge .. substitute Stork Spread for butter. Use non-dairy milk for any milk, or use just water.
Most fondant icings like Regalice and Satin Ice are vegetarian friendly.

I would think if they are vegetarian, but NOT vegan, just about any cake recipe would work as there is no meat I am aware of in any of the ingredients. As long as you aren't using animal lard for your shortening, you're o.k.
I agree with Eileen. I am vegetarian and not vegan and pretty much any cake goes!
I also agree with Eileen, any cake goes. :) If they were Vegan however, that would be a different story !
