You didn't say what flavor Maria of the Pillsbury/Betty Crocker? I am assuming plain white?   My fav is adding sour cream and different flavorings/extracts. I have many so they really can change the flavor.  Coconut flavor & shredded coconut. Cinnamon, nutmeg & shredded carrot for carrot cake. I made a orange creamsicle cake @Halloween, went over really big. There is a member here: jeri c., who has a ton of "doctored" cake mix recipes. Check out her blog on her page. Also google doctored cake mix..... lots of good recipes out there.

:o)

The flavors are lemon, butter, yellow and  funfetti cake mix, maybe it's just the same as the white cake with something like sprinkles. Per box, how much do I need to put? Let's say for nutmeg, cinnamon ad carrot. Can I put some cocoa powder to make it chocolate flavor? Ok I will check Jeri's c. blog. Thank you so much June. God bless.

For another time Maria, try Betty Crockers carrot cake mix - it is DELICIOUS!  Very light and spicy, with overtones of ginger.  I've used it for celebration cakes and cupcakes and it works well for either.

I wouldn't add cocoa powder to the mix as it may make it too dry.  (Betty Crocker also does a really good chocolate Devil's Food Cake mix btw).  In a scratch cake, you replace some of the flour with cocoa.  June, could Maria add some chocolate pudding mix as you call i,t (angel delight to us), to the plain cake  mix to chocolate it up a bit?

Yes Katy

Adding pudding works really well. For the lemon you could add vanilla or lemon pudding,  lemon juice & the zest of the lemon. I used a yellow cake mix to make my carrot cake. Think it was 1 cup shredded carrot, then couple of tsp of cinnamon & 1 tsp nutmeg & ginger. I also added 2 tsp of cayenne pepper. I use a white cake mix add cherry flavored jello, dissolved in the water added to the mix, water is hot so jello will dissolve.  Then van pudding mix & sometimes I  stir in sprinkles just before I put batter into the pans. You can do that with your funfeti mix. The possibilities are endless,  just use your imagination.   :o)

Cool!

Wow, I didn't know you can do so many flavors with a ready mix. i will ask my client if she wants a carrot cake. That was in my mind last night, I searched for a carrot cake using a white cake mix, adding pineapple juice, orange peel, shredded carrots, raisins and nuts. I'm not sure if I can find a pudding mix. Thank you very much for  your help. You're really kind, June and Katy!!! Take care.

You're welcome Maria.  I don't know if you will be able to get any of this stuff where you are, but Duncan Hines does cake mixes and also gives recipes on how to adapt and add to them to make different kinds of cakes.  I've never tried (sadly), because it is so expensive to buy in the UK, as it's all imported.  But take a look at their page out of interest -

Hi Katy! I already got the Pillsbury and Betty Crocker provided by my client. We don't have a Duncan Hines cake mixes here in my place, maybe in Manila. But I bought a carrot cake mix, Maya brand which I will try later. I will take a look at the website and see what I can find. Thank you so much. God bless.
