Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

On Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 the NJ Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee finally included S 2734 on it's schedule for a hearing.  It went pretty well (though there was one opponenet present - NJ Farm Beaureu) and there were a few Senator/Committee members that had some reservations concerning health issues (no surprise there) and regulations even though they voted for the bill.  It passed it's second reading/committee!!

The same day the Assembly version of the bill was officially introduced - A3407 - and assigned to the Assembly Health and Human Services Committee!

We really need to push now as there's so little time left for this session and I belive there are only two more committee meetings left for the Asseembly Health Committee.  Please, if this bill is going to have the slightest chance of passing through during this session, we have to call and e-mail each and every member of the Assembly Health Committee.  That means we have to contact the Chair, Asm. Herb Conaway (856-461-3997) to respectfully, but firmly, request that this bill (A 4307) is posted for an upcoming hearing.  We also have to contact each of the other Assemblypersons: Vice Chair, Asw. Connie Wagner (201-576-9199); Asm. Vincent Polistina (609-677-8266); Asw. Celeste Riley (856-455-1011); Asw. Mary Pat Angelini (732-974-1719); Asw. Amy Handlin (732-787-1170); Asm. Daniel Benson (609-631-0198); Asw. Nancy Munoz (908-232-2073); Asm. Jerry Green (908-561-5757); Asw. Cleopatra Tucker (973-926-4320); and Asw. Joan Quigley (201-217-4614).  Each member can also be reached via e-mail by using their title abbreviation followed by their last name then "@njleg.org"; for example, Asm. Herb Conaway's email address is: asmconaway@njleg.org.  Please contact them as soon as possible and let them know you support this bill and want it to come up for a hearing as soon as possible.  Let them know that seven, yes SEVEN, other states enacted Cottage Food Laws this year alone - Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, South Dakota, Washington State and TEXAS!

Please, if you want your representatives to truly represent YOU, their constituents, YOU HAVE to LET THEM KNOW WHAT YOU WANT!
