Instead of vellum, one could use chocolate transfer sheets http://www.americanchocolatedesigns.com/ on the fondant surface or stencil a pattern on them.
or, to make the vellum ones at half the cost, cut them in half...use a decorative punch on both edges and run the vellum band around the center.
I'll bet there's oodles of things to put around 'em and I can't wait for others to share them.
wow we need a hobby lobby here! We have Michaels and nothing else. I am with you though Tracey, I really like everything to be edible on my cakes and it's so easy to decorate fondant. They look so good. I am considering trying them out for a not-so-cutesy baby shower. We will see.
I made these for my mother-in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. I wrapped them in vellum from Hobby Lobby and tied a decorative bow around them. Everyone loved them!! They are a pain for wrap in fondant though. I made a mess doing it but they turned out great!
