Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hi everyone,

Hope you are well.

I recently got an inquiry to do a cake to look like a guest table setting.  Its for a 9" round cake.  See link:

There are a lot of details in this cake, and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how i can do the centre piece?  The chairs i think will not be fully edible unless someone has a cool technique I can use??

And how do you make clear wine glasses so small??

Thought i'd get some help on this one....

I would use a large cardboard for the base..then a smaller one on a CAKE STAND for the table..use pretzels for the chairs and cupcakes cut int slices and covered in fondant for the chairs!
Use copper colored fondant for the floor then dry paint it with copper food coloring in varying patterns to match the floor.  Use it to cover your bottom cardboard.

awesome ideas Dawn! I love it thank you so much.  I have never done copper colored fondant? Is it just a matter of getting the food color copper?

Yes, it is a food coloring you can find anywhere.  It is great for flesh coloring as well.  I often use the copper food coloring to make things look wood or leather.  Just dry brush it on!
BTW..Im jealous..these types of cakes are the ones that I love to do the most! Cant wait to see it...post pictures if you can and on this thread too!
Definately...i'm a bit nervous about this, but i'd love to get your input on how to do certain things when i make the cake!!  I'm going to add you as my friend :)
