Not sure I understand your question/dilemena Heather
Can you be more specific???? Perhaps then I & others can help.
Sorry it took so long to answer you Heather. Was working on a birthday cake for Sunday.
Ok, you mentioned thimble & actually that is a good idea. Any store that sells sewing supplies sell thimbles. You can find a thimble without bumps/ridges. Use a icing tip and cut out your gumpaste with the large round end. This way each one will be the same size. Push fondant into thimble, cut off excess if any comes up & over. Place in freezer approx 5-8 min. When it is good & hard loosen slightly, carefully, with a knife, and it should pop right out. It should come out resembling a smal cup. Give it a try. In my mind, it looks like it will work.
Hope this helps.
That sounds pretty doable June. You might want to first dust the inside first with corn starch though. Once it pops out, just use some Crisco to clean off the corn starch. You shouldn't even have to freeze them if you use cornstarch on the inside of the thimble. Another thought would be to go through all of your hair product lids. Sometimes hair products have much smaller lids that cover like a spray can of hair spray that could be used in the same manner. I'm always checking around the house to see if there is something that resembles the size and shape of what I need to make in gum paste or fondant.

I do that too Linda. Looking around for household items to see if they can be used.
