Good Morning! I need to make a Standing Witches Hat Cake for a centerpiece. I have an idea, but i would like input from others. I thought about using my standing Christmas tree pan and then carving it up a bit. I also got boxed pound cake mix, but they want chocolate. Can I add chocolate to the mix without creating a disaster?
Any help, advice or instruction would be appreciated! Thank you, Sandy

Hi Sandy,
I cannot answer from first hand experience, but I did check All Recipes and found this very highly rated Chocolate Chip Pound Cake recipe which starts with a yellow cake mix. I see no reason why you could not use what you have and adding chocolate.

Using your standing Christmas Tree pan sounds like a great idea. Probably less carving required than stacking. Sounds like a cute cake.
Thanks, Im just going to jump right in and DO IT!!

I've seen your work, so I am betting it will turn out perfectly! Can't wait to see the picture.
What about the Wonder Mold Doll pan. You might have to add some layers to the bottom to make it higher or add a larger layer for the brim. I made a witches head one time using that pan, I looked for my picture but can't find it.Turned out pretty good, kinda looked like the witch from "Wizard of Oz" (green face)
You are right! Ill see if I can find the Wonder Mold Pan. That would be a lot easier! THANKS!!!
