My new video from Edna De La Cruz.... Blooms & Vines came today! Am going to watch it tonight. Sooooo excited! Edna is such a great teacher and her work is so amazing!
Hey Jeri! I have seen you post a few things about videos, is there a place you tend to buy most of yours from? Also, are there one or two you feel are absolute must haves? Thanks!!
Yes, good question Holly. I too am looking to see where I could get some good videos, & which ones are better than others. I have Hughesnet internet & I am limited to how many youtube videos(usually 3 depending on length of video) I can watch before my service starts running slower than dial up.

Holly & Jennifer - I think Jeri would agree that one must have is Sharon Zambito's Perfecting the Art of Buttercream. I just received her Sheet Cake Secrets DVD for Mothers Day. Still watching it - 2+ hrs! You can purchase Sharon's DVDs directly from her at http://www.sugaredproductions.com. Sharon's a member of CC so you can go there and ask her questions. She's really helpful.
I actually have purchased most of my videos from Global Sugar Art. They have a great selection. I LOVE Sharon Z's and Global has them... as for Edna's new video, I ordered it directly from her at designmeacake.com I got my Nicholas Lodge DVD's from Global as well as the Chocolate Transfer Sheets DVD, and Marcella Sanchez's Stylized Bride & Groom and the Making Fun Characters with Gumpaste DVD. I also got the Sugar Flowers book by Jill Maythem there. They have tons of magazines etc... I have quite a collection. Just love browsing through them when we travel! Here is the link to Global Sugar Art... http://www.globalsugarart.com/cat.php?cid=321&s=&name=Books...'S%20&%20Magazines
As for the Must Haves... depends on where you are in your journey through the world of cake...
If you are just starting out... Sharon Z's Perfecting the Art of Buttercream is a MUST.... and if you are a beginner in fondant. her flawless fondant dvd is sound solid info that is very valuable!
If you are wanting to start out with sugar flowers, I started by watching You Tube tutorials... learned the cala lily there from Edna. Unless you are able to spend quite a bit on supplies... the flower DVD's are not going to help you much. They will give you knowledge but you have to have the supplies to make the flowers. I just got an order that I spent $350 on a couple weeks ago... then another yesterday from Edna that I spent another $125 and have another on the way that was $250... and I already had a lot of cutters and supplies but not the "right" ones that I want to do the flowers that I want to do. I have the basics down on the flowers now so I am ready to take off.... I have really pretty gardens in the summer with tons of flowers so my inspiration is my own gardens and I hope to recreate a lot of my favorite flowers in gumpaste.
