Recipe for Chocolate Spice Square

Hi My Fellow bakers,

Anyone have a recipe for chocolate spice squares/cake they would be willing to share.  When I was younger I worked in a bakery (little did I know then how much I would love baking, I would have paid more attention!) that originally was a German bakery and they made the best chocolate spice cakes.  It was my mom's favorite and I was hoping to make for her for Mother's Day.  I have search all over the internet and the recipes I found just don't seem like they are what I am looking for.  The spice cakes were sort of a very moist brownie type cake and a very thick chocolate-ganchey type frosting (if that helps as a description, lol).  So I am turning to you guys for help.
