Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hi all!
I was contacted by a wedding/events coordinator who has expressed interest in using me as a cake vendor.  She's already contacted me about doing a wedding cake for November and has given me a budget.
I'm interested in how I should consider pricing my cakes in the future with an events coordinator.  Is there an understood "preferred vendor" or discounted price agreement between bakers and coordinators in the biz, or do I just go by my normal pricing?
I'm at the very beginning of making these business contacts and just wanted to be able to price accordingly.
Thanks y'all!

Hi Renay, I prefer to deal with the bride only. When I have an events coordinator call me I get the name of the bride and give her a call or tell the events planner to have the bride call me and we work out her cake design with my price per slice and her budget. I don't discount my cakes and I'm assured the design is approved by the bride. I've had the occasion to talk with a couple of brides who did an all in one deal with a local venue and were very dissaponted in their cakes and had no idea who furnished them. The design was nothing like they had told the venue planner they wanted and were very amatur in nature. I suspect the venue is using unlicensed and uninsured bakers to keep their cost down. Pam
One price for everyone. No exceptions. Be wary about "preferred vendor" lists too. Most of the time I've heard vendors got on those lists simply by paying a fee to the venue or coordinator. Like Pam said, try to keep most of your correspondence between you and the bride/groom. I just don't see the need for a middle man in the planning process. I can see if a bride wants a coordinator to handle all the payments and stuff, but as far as the planning goes, stick with the bride.
