I just seen the show cake boss and he made a cake that was Princess/Pirate cake and what he did was a treasure chest with lots of jewels coming out of it with a Pirate and Princess sitting on top of it.

I know Buddy (Cake Boss) did a pirate/princess cake for his twin niece and nephews party not too long ago (within 1-2 weeks ago). Maybe you can search for pics from that show.
