Piping gel vs decorating gel

I think as long as it's clear, it should work fine.  You're using the Wilton transfer method?

Yes, am using the Wilton transfer method..But I have black decorating gel....I need to make music notes....Do you think it will work out with the black?

If you're going to make black notes, I'd say it would work fine.  If you are going to make them a different color, I wouldn't do it.  I'd go buy some clear gel. :)
