Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hi I just started working here in Abu Dhabi and the shop I am working bought a Fondant which I don't use called Patisfrance. Problem with this is it is wet and sticky. I tried putting cornstarch to lessen the moisture but it dries so fast that it cracks. not like the satin Ice I used to work.

Do you have any suggestions or any of you guys have better luck than me on this kind of fondant.

Thanks

I don't have any experience with that brand but I've always heard that cornstarch makes fondant dry faster.  Try powdered sugar instead.

I recall watching an episode of Challenge and one of the contestants fondant was so dry it was cracking all over due to the conditions of the studio. Kerry Vincent told her that she should have added glycerine to the fondant. Proportions...I have no idea...

Maybe you can look this up to find out how much to use.

@Deah tried powderteed sugar too and it does dry also

@Teneisha The fondant stared wet then falls right away to dry . I think this is a no good product. better stock up on satin ice
