I use an adjusted WASC recipe. Half OJ/half water, remove almond extract, add orange flavoring. You could add orange zest also.

I like the Williamsburg Orange Cake recipe at Allrecipes.com. I leave out the raisins and walnuts, add extra orange zest and substitute half the vanilla with orange extract. Good luck finding the perfect recipe!

I make the WASC... elimate the Almond Flavoring and add 1/2 bottle of Lor Ann's Orange Emulsion (if you are using the 2 boxes of mix recipe) I also add a drop or two of orange food color to give it that orange color. And if you really want to kick it up you can add a couple TBSP of orange zest. I like it fine without the zest though. It is soooo yummy topped with a fresh vanilla bean buttercream.... I call it my dreamsicle cake!

I'm not sure what Lor Ann's Orange Emulsion is.. please advise :) (and thanks for your response to my question!)

They add a creamy nice flavor and don't have the bite that some extracts have.
