Passion fruit paste is very expensive. Since it is not something I will use often, I purchased (in the Spanish frozen food section) frozen passion fruit pulp and boiled it down to almost a paste consistency. Also did not use this buttercream recipe, I used one that uses less sugar and used the passion fruit to flavor it. It's really good. I love the passion fruit flavored buttercream too. I didn't actually use the recipe above. Just did my regular Swiss Meringue recipe which uses a lot less sugar. I don't like the buttercream really sweet. I think that is why I don't care for American buttercream.
YES I AGREE with you its to sweet , that's why I purchased the bettercream !!also I like the way it pipes and holds up when piped !
