Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hello, All. I'm working on the decorations for a cake I will be doing on Friday for my husband's birthday. The theme is lottery because he's a fanactic and I thought it would be appropriate. I've made a few decorations but I believe it needs a little bit more. (Pic will be added) The Illinois lottery sign, which has to be done over (didn't allow coloring to dry) will go on top of the lottery pot. The lottery ticket needs a little work, (trying to figure how to get all the small writing onto it). And last, the lottery balls have to have numbers added to them. It will be an 8" round cake, or 9 " heart shaped not totally sure at the moment. Any and all ideas/comments will be gladly welcomed. Thanks to all in advance.

Hi Dee,

I'm from the UK and have just checked out the sign for the Illinois lottery. Why don't you make the sponge cake itself rainbow coloured so it's a surprise when your husband cuts into it! You could add just a little yellow pot filled with chocolate coins dusted with gold luster dust.(I recently dusted milk chocolate with the dust and it completely covered it really well without affecting the taste.)

Looking forward to seeing your finished cake - good luck.
