Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Hi ladies,

I started my part time cake business which has been my dream since I was 19, but just never had the courage to do it.

I work till 2pm and do the cakes in the evenings. Its terribly stressful, but I want to eventually grow it so that I can substitute the salary from my current job and have the cake business as a full time business.

Luckily in South Africa, we don't have the laws you have. Our government encourages home-based small businesses.

I am feeling like I am in a tunnel and could do with some advice from those of you who have built up your cake businesses. I am working myself to a stuper and feeling down at the moment about it.

Thanks

Wendy

Hi Wendy

I dont really know if there is an answer to that one I guess you just have to keep going till you got enough cake business that you can drop the other work.

I am much the same I work 6 days a week in my full time job and are very often working on a cake till after midnight the day before  a cake is wanted, but hopefully one day ill have enough cake business to at least cut down the hours on my other job.

I really do wish you every success its so good to be doing something you love isn't it

Regards

Les
